Mirage Trailers and TNT would like to offer this quick tip regarding preventative maintenance of fuel systems. Specifically, the fuel pump.
A failed fuel pump can certainly place a blemish on 4-wheeling or snowmobiling excursion. Fuel pumps require consistent usage. It is recommended to use the pump 2-3 times a month, even if it you just recycle fuel back into your own fuel tank. This helps to prolong the life of the pump. So, while you may have only used your brand new fuel system one time, leaving it idle for too long can damage the pump. Additionally, it is not recommended to use any additives in the system. This can cause the gears in the pump to gum up and not turn properly. If you prefer performance additives in your machines, it’s best to add them direct. Make sure and implement these tips into your maintenance routine to extend the life and utility of your fuel system. Happy trailering!
